The Cornermen Band
While John and Steve were Crowdfunding to launch The Cornermen service in the summer of 2022, John played an Open Mic slot (he plays a bit of guitar) at Boundary Park in Didcot, and when coming on to talk about the proposed service he was launching with Steve introduced them with the remark “We are The Cornermen!”
Thinking this sounded like a great name for a band, John then recruited musicians and Club Members Tom Dalby and Nick Bentley to form that band.
The Cornermen now play to promote awareness of the Support Service they are named after, as well as to have a good old sing song! While they play covers of bands like The Jam, The Foo Fighters, The Libertines and Damien Dempsey, they also play an increasing number of their own songs.
